The collection consists of a copy of the typescript of Ebenezer Henderson's reminiscences, covering the time between 1833 to 1906. The account was originally written under the pseudonym of Lewis Connell, with names of other people and places also pseudonymous. Real names have been pencilled in. Apparently written for publication in the style of the period, it contains numerous stories, including Henderson's role in state and national politics. He also discusses the presidential campaigns of 1840, 1876, 1880, 1884, and 1896, and the 15th Amendment. 152 pp.

Ebenezer Henderson was born in Morgan County, Ind., and attended Indiana University. A Democrat, he held offices at the county, state, and national level, serving as state senator, 1869 and 1871; as state auditor, 1875-1879; and as deputy commissioner of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, 1887-1889.
